Record the market, price, timing, stake, rationale, and outcome consistently so betting reviews rely on evidence rather than memory or isolated results.
Log the decision while it is still clear
A useful log captures what was known at the time of a decision, not a story reconstructed after the result. Record the event, market, period, selection, operator, decimal price, amount, timestamp, and a short rationale. Add the accepted price rather than the price you hoped to receive.
Use a consistent format for every row. If you mix decimal and fractional odds, record the format or convert one before comparing entries. Keep source data separate from comments so later analysis does not turn assumptions into facts.
Add a closing reference carefully
If you track closing-line value (CLV), define one reference source, market, and capture time before you begin. A simple price-change percentage is one tracking convention, not a universal CLV standard. For example, with decimal prices you might record (entry price - reference close) / entry price; document the convention and keep it consistent.

Review enough data to learn something
Periodically check for missing fields, duplicate events, inconsistent markets, and mistakes in amounts or results. Segment only after the records are clean: by sport, market, timing, or rationale. Avoid drawing a conclusion from a few outcomes; variance and sample size explains why short runs can be misleading.
