Arbitrage and EV+: Two Different Signals
Compare a cross-book price relationship with an EV+ estimate: what each calculation says, what it leaves uncertain, and how to review both responsibly.
They answer different questions
An arbitrage calculation asks whether prices on mutually exclusive outcomes combine to a theoretical surplus. An EV+ estimate asks whether one available price is better than a chosen estimate of fair probability. Neither label guarantees an accepted quote, a future result, or a financial outcome.

What the calculations require
Arbitrage needs matching markets, complete outcome coverage, accepted stakes, and compatible settlement terms. Its calculation is about the price set at a moment in time; price changes, fees, limits, and rejected orders can change what is actually possible.
EV+ needs an explicit fair-probability estimate. A de-vigged market consensus can be a useful reference, but it is still an estimate with assumptions. An individual result remains uncertain, and a short run of outcomes cannot validate the estimate.
Review the operational constraints
Both signals need the same basic checks: identify the exact market and period, inspect the available quote, consider limits and fees, and decide whether the exposure fits the amount you can afford to lose. Bankroll management across bookmakers is about keeping that record and exposure visible rather than treating an alert as an instruction.
Do not use account workarounds or misleading information to obtain a quote after an operator has restricted an account. Follow the operator's terms and applicable law.
Use a record, not a narrative
